Join us for a discussion of "Killers of the Flower Moon" by David Grann. This discussion will be led by Hedy Hustedde. Toward the end of the 19th century, pushed from their native land, the Osage tribe left Kansas for what was considered to be worthless land in northeastern Oklahoma. Far from being tricked into giving up their native land, the Osage garnered great wealth on the mineral rights ignored by others. More than two dozen of the Osage tribe were murdered in the early 20th century before Texas Ranger Tom White investigated, with the help of up-and-coming federal lawman J. Edgar Hoover.

Books available for loan on a first-come basis at the previous month's Contemporary Books Discussion and after that at the Information Desk. Newcomers are always welcome.

This program is funded by the Friends of the Bettendorf Public Library.
